Replacing a sash window
Remove metal framed monstrosity
Replace with beautifully handmade (by me) sash window
Now for a slightly more involved window replacement
Hideous bay window squeezed in to available space & rotting
Remove this piece of 70's tat (which didn't take too long)
Also remove badly bricked up doorway and lintle, support upper brickwork
Use a quality craftsman to build pillar and brick arches in keeping with period
Then install 2 matching sashes, just the patio doors to do now....
Building an office in the garden
First clear the site of trees and sheds...
Timber base on concrete footings, no planning permission needed for a timber frame construction.
Lining the frame with 9mm OSB
Install Velux windows, and finish with Coroline sheeting
Vapour barrier then shiplap cladding
Spray on protective stain
Add some lights
Line the interior with drywall, lay cheap laminate flooring and trim out doors & windows
And so to work...
Replacing a rotten window
First make sure you have a replacement window frame BEFORE taking out rotten frame.
Replace with HARDWOOD frame, softwood window frames should be illegal.
